The Register of Physical Therapists of Ireland caters for the needs of Physical Therapy professionals and students working or training in Ireland. The Register provides support for its members to enable them to give the very best of attention to their patients. The RPTI is Irelands only independant, voluntary, non-profit, self regulating body representing Physical Therapists in Ireland. The RPTI encourage continuous education. To facilitate our members we provide C.P.D. courses (continuous professional development), at regular intervals on subjects that have special interest to Physical Therapists. All courses run by the RPTI are provided to members on a "no profit" basis. With the onset of regulation of therapies the Register will assist its members to have the very best of preparation. The register will insist that all members abide by its strict code of conduct and good practice.

Qualified Physical Therapists registered with the RPTI are approved by VHI Healthcare, Laya Healthcare and Hibernian Aviva Healthcare.

Requirements of RPTI Membership
Requirements of RPTI membership are as follows:

All members and new applicants to the R.P.T.I must be adquately insured medical malpractice cover. In accordance with the current health and safety standards and R.P.T.I membership requirements all existing members and applicants to the R.P.T.I must hold valid Occupational First Aid cert.

For all new applicants to the R.P.T.I it is compulsory that they forward proof of their qualifications and proof of their compliance with the insurance and occupational first aid requirements of the R.P.T.I. For renewal purposes our existing members must provide proof of compliance with their CPD requirements and their occupational first aid requirements along with their up to date insurance cover.

Requirements of CPD for members of the R.P.T.I are twenty hours of which there are ten structured hours and ten unstructured hours per year. Structured hours mean that you must do onsite CPD course`s or course per year. The R.P.T.I will try to provide at least one or more workshops per year on a non profit basis to try facilitate members with their ten structured hours. It is IMPORTANT to note your occupational first aid training is not part of your twenty CPD hours.
